Christmas 2008

Christmas this year was so great. The kids are at such fun ages and they really got into it this year so Jonathan and I had such a good with them. I made a you tube of them singing Rudolph, it is really cute and you can check it.

Christmas Eve I baked some cookies in the shapes of Christmas Trees and let the boys decorate them for Santa. And of course we left Santa some milk with it. Isaiah decided we needed to leave him chocolate milk because he would like that so much better so that's what we did. They had such a good time with that. Then we let them open a new pair of pajama's that came with a robe so that they could sleep in them and open presents in them on Christmas morning. They were excited.

Christmas morning Isaiah was so excited. He woke up and rain into the living room to see if Santa had come. He was so happy to see that he had and ran to Elijah and told him that Santa had come. They both went running into the living room and we hurried out so that we could start the present fun. We opened presents and then opened all the toys and played and watched movies all day. Jonathan and I made our first turkey and it turned out good. When it got dark we loaded up and went driving around looking at Christmas lights. We were so excited because we got to have a white Christmas!!!!

Ice Storm

So we leave Texas and it snows there for the first time in 30 yrs and we were so bummed we missed it. But we got ours!!! A little over a week after arriving here in Ft. Wayne we got an Ice Storm. Nothing but Ice, Ice, Ice.... EVERYWHERE and on EVERYTHING!!! We woke up on Friday morning, Dec 19th, to our power going out. So I called the power company and they said they were aware and would be sending someone out to fix it. We left here and went to the mall to walk around the mall so we would have something to do and we find out that it may not be till Sunday after 1 that they are going to have our power on. So since it is so cold here there is no way we could stay home, we would freeze to death. We went and stayed with our friends, who also didn't have power as most of Ft. Wayne, but they had a fireplace so we were able to stay warm. It was quite a weekend and our power didn't come on until Monday night after 6pm. It was so cold over the weekend, it was 29 degrees in our house at one point and -6 degrees outside!!! It was so pretty though, the ice covered the trees and it was beautiful, I keep saying it looks like we live in Narnia!! Here are a few pics.

Finally Settled in Ft. Wayne

We are finally all settled in here!! It took us a little bit but we are finally unpacked, well for the most part!!! We had a smooth trip up here. We didn't run into much traffic and the weather was good until we hit Louisville, KY, then we got into some rain. We are just thankful that the temperature was up so the rain wasn't freezing. It's kind of been interesting since we got here. We had a ice storm which I will post another blog on and tell everyone all about that and put a few pictures too. We had a wonderful Christmas and even have gotten to play in some snow so it's been great. Church is going great. We are starting with the youth this week and are looking forward to that. I just know that 2009 is going to be a great year!!! Oh and we officially decided on a name for our newest little boy that will be joining the family in May... Jadon Douglas!! Here is a picture of me at 22 weeks.
